Naturally, indie and alternative rock music is a fundamental part of Camden life and The Underworld is a major part of this, attracting London tourists with a taste for alternative music.
The Camden Underworld is one of the most popular London attractions with fans of alternative rock music, due to the venue's national fame. The Underworld typically plays host to indie and alternative rock bands that are in the early stages of chart success. The venue holds 500 people and is located at the bottom of the World’s End pub. The list of famous artists to have played the venue includes the Foo Fighters, Suede, Radiohead and Placebo.
I partied here with Urge Overkill a few years ago and agree this place is a wild time.

The Dublin Castle acts as an indie pub until 6:00pm, when it closes to become one of the UK’s coolest music venues. The Dublin Castle attracts London tourists with a love of indie rock and roll. Camden Town shares the title with Brick Lane as London’s coolest district and a magnet for those with a taste for alternative culture – indie / alternative rock music is a way of life in this counter-cultural part of London.
The Dublin Castle is a tiny venue, but its intimacy is part of its charm. The venue has a reputation for hosting hot unsigned bands as well as signed bands in the early stages of their career. Most of the bands that play the venue fit the indie/alternative rock bracket. Indie music’s golden Britpop era in the mid-1990s saw many acts play The Dublin Castle, including Blur, Supergrass and Kula Shaker.
